Here I must freely admit...I am not a fan of the Outlander series. I tried but the whole time travel premise left me cold. Odd, I know considering how much I enjoy time traveling television and films. I mean, I loved Somewhere in Time in its day...and Time and Again...and Quantum Leap and Voyager and, you know, that show with the weirdly dressed fellow blipping about in a 1960's Police Box.

Eleventh Doctor in Costume...Spoiler Link...http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/2545761/Suits-Who-Sir.html

But the time traveling romances...nah!

Still, I thought I might give Galbadon another try with something shorter...so I picked up this little volume. Read more... )

Title: Revisions Which A Minute Will Reverse (4/4)
Authors: [info]wild_sibyl & [info]_thirty2flavors
Genre: AU, drama, angst, romance
Spoilers: Through season 4, particularly Turn Left
Characters/Pairings: Ten2/Rose(/Ten), Donna Noble
Summary: From a dingy hotel in Norway, the Doctor and Rose realise something has gone wrong. A timey-wimey interpretation of Turn Left.

Excerpt: Rose knows she is not magical, not omnipotent. She can no longer see the future or the past. She will not live forever; her brief brush with the eternal has not granted her immortality. She is a woman, human, transient. When she thinks about her life so far, she is always shocked by how ludicrous is all seems, how much like a fairytale. Ordinary shop girl falls in love with an exiled prince, the last of his kind, only to be torn from his side by the spiteful hands of time and chance. Ridiculous.

Author's notes: We say "AU", but it could maybe be canon if you disregard a line or two in JE and squint a little. The title is a line from T S Eliot's "The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock", because we're trendy like that, apparently. Much of what you recognize is borrowed from Turn Left, but this is not by any means a simple Turn Left recap.

Parts: One - Two - Three - Four

As I was saying, we ought to hurry. The breach isn’t likely to last long, and—

Title:  Twin Solitudes (7/?)
Rating: PG rising to NC-17 from chapter 4.
Characters: Ten/Rose, Jack, OC.
Beta: The amazing[info]caraskye

Summary: "...love from one being to another can only be that twin solitudes come nearer, recognize and protect and comfort each other." Han Suyin. Charis's life so far has been fraught with grief and unhappiness. Can an old face help her find happiness and can the Doctor and Rose accept the inevitable.
Disclaimer: All recognisable characters and places are not mine they belong to RTD. The children however are another thing...
A/N: Twin solitudes is the third in 'The TARDIS Prophecies' series following immediately from

Something is seriously wrong with me. I went Dishy Guy Monday browsing, and was left cold after an hour of searching. The guys just looked too young, too scary intense, or just plain too meh.

Matt is the best of what I found.

I'm not sure about that expression above, though. He looks kinda wary to me.

Then again, this one is kind of dubious, too.

At least he's not quite so wary looking.

And then we have the shades pic.

I can't tell if he's looking manfully into the distance, or if he's just thinking about what he wants for dinner.

Sigh. It's me, isn't it? I've lost the DGM touch.

rabid1st: yeah...microsoft is evil
rabid1st: ...like Russell
rabid1st: Actually, you've met him...he doesn't seem evil, does he?
rabid1st: He always strikes me as lovable
rabid1st: Even when he's saying horribly insensitive things...in a gleeful manner.
trinity_20: cuddly until he rolls over and crushes you
rabid1st: yeah
rabid1st: rather like Bacchus
rabid1st: We were all having fun until we woke up with that hangover

Title: The Effects of Apple Grass (1/2)
Character/Pairing: Ten/Rose
Rating: PG-13
Disclaimer: The BBC owns all, I am merely borrowing.
Spoilers: Through New Earth.
Summary: Rose is still adjusting to the Doctor’s regeneration and Cassandra’s meddling has interesting results. Could be read as a sequel to A Different Blend or alone.

Part One: The air is crisp, the smell of apple grass is on the breeze and Rose is practically glowing with excitement.

There was discussion on one of these lists about the placement of the Doctor's hand in the promo pics. Someone had mentioned that it was only Rose that he more "intimately" positioned his hand in his defensive posture. I racked my brain trying to think of any I'd seen with other companions where he did. After much Googleing, I feel confident that yes, Rose is the only one with that kind of intimate contact. I present the following visual, empirical data.

"Follow the Evidence"

So I'm keeping the smug grin. :)

Title: The Mettle of Merlin (4/25?)
Characters/Pairing: 9, Rose, various character from legend
Rating: PG 13
Disclaimer: Not mine. I don't own Dr Who or Arthurian Legend. Sniff.

All quotes at the beginning of the chapters are from Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.
Summary: After World War III, the Doctor tries to make things - like refusing to do domestic with a mother who's not seen her daughter for twelve months - up to Rose. Predictably, things do not go according to plan. Unpredictably, the pair end up in a totally new kind of adventure. Not all quests are transparent and not all tests have simple answers.

Author: [info]rallalon | Rall
Beta: [info]vyctori
Rating: PG13, AU towards the end of Season One; 9!Smith.
Disclaimer: Do not own.
Summary: He wants to say he’s overreacting. He knows he’s overreacting. But he knows why he is, even if he’s hardly about to say it, hardly about to admit it, even to himself. And with that sort of a reason for reacting, it’s more like plain reacting, isn’t it?

So I said I would try to do some Rose/Nine manips, and, uh, I did.

Three huge Rose/Nine manips under the cut!

A slight warning: One of these is kinda racy, in that perfume-ad-featuring-two-topless-people- embracing-kind-of-way. There's no actual nudity, and it was a magazine ad, but I did want to warn.

Christopher Eccleston, how did I forget how hot you are?

Title: A New Chapter
Author: [info]facing_the_wind
One Shot
Characters/Pairings: Rose/10.5, Eleven, Tony Tyler
Rating: PG
Notes: If I owned DW, this wouldn't be necessary. Nuff said. Basically just my take on what SHOULD (coughcough) happen during and just after Ten's regeneration.
Summary: They've spent so long learning to live without each other that Rose and the Doctor have to figure out where they fit together now.

From the look of the air of them, you'd never know they'd just participated in a Universe-saving war
